Start With Why – TED Talk
Simon Sinek is a British-American author, motivational speaker and marketing consultant. Born in Wimbledon, England and as a child lived in Johannesburg, London, and Hong Kong before settling in the United States. He studied law at London’s City University and received a BA in cultural anthropology from Brandeis University.
Sinek’s website is aptly named Start With Why and describes him as ‘an unshakable optimist. He believes in a bright future and people’s ability to build it together. “A visionary thinker with a rare intellect.”
The concept of ‘Why’ inspired his first Ted Talk in 2009. With a vision to change the way businesses think, act and operate, Sinek is working with Ernst & Young to help transform company culture and create a better working world. Sinek is an adjunct staff member of the RAND Corporation, one of the most highly regarded think tanks in the world. He is also active in the arts and in the not-for-profit world.
